Overview & Diving Season

The Visayas is the central region of the Philippines, stretching from Panay in the west to Samar in the east. Known for its island-hopping itineraries, this region delivers an extraordinary range of underwater environments—from deep pelagic cleaning stations and dramatic drop-offs to calm, critter-rich muck sites.Diving in the Visayas operates year-round. The dry season runs from late October to May, while the rainy season spans from June to early October. Liveaboards offer 6 to 10-night safaris with varied, flexible routes across the region throughout the year.

Malapascua Island: Globally renowned as the premier destination to dive with pelagic thresher sharks, along with manta rays, hammerheads, wrecks, and a nearby sea snake sanctuary.
Bohol: Famous for healthy coral gardens, wall diving, green sea turtles, sharks, pelagics, and wondrous macro life.
Cebu & Moalboal: Dive Pescador Island's immense biomass of reef fish, swim through Moalboal's giant sardine cloud at Panagsama Reef, and spot whale sharks at Sumilon Island and Oslob.
Dumaguete (Negros): Features world-class muck diving in Dauin, pristine marine life at Apo Island, and diverse endemic species around Siquijor Island.
Southern Leyte: An up-and-coming hotspot in Eastern Visayas featuring whale shark encounters in Sogod Bay, superb sanctuary diving at Napantao and Santa Paz, and macro critters at Limasawa Island.

Main Gateways: Fly into Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB) or Dumaguete City Sibulan Airport (DGT).Domestic & International Flights: Direct 1-hour 15-minute flights connect Manila to Cebu, alongside direct international flights to Cebu from Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Dubai. Dumaguete is reached via a 1.5-hour domestic flight from Manila.Embarkation Ports: Liveaboards depart directly from Cebu Yacht Club or Atlantis Dive Resort in Dumaguete. Transfers from local airports or hotels are typically arranged by boat operators.Diving Conditions & Experience: Safaris suit all experience levels, though certain deep sites and passages are exposed to strong currents. Water temperatures average around 26.5°C to 28°C.
